Karma Monroe

Hey girl, hey — I’m Karma, but all the real ones call me K.

I’m a romance and contemporary fiction author from the West Coast who writes stories about women figuring it out — loudly, messily, and beautifully. My books center the ones who save themselves. The women who carry the weight, hold the line, love too hard, cry in the shower, and still show up for everyone else. The ones who want softness without having to earn it.

I grew up devouring stories that never looked like me, loved like me, or sounded like the women who raised me — loud, layered, and full of life. So now I write for us. For the girls who want more: more depth, more vulnerability, more room to be flawed and still be loved.

My stories explore emotional healing, identity, mental health, desire, and found family — with a little steam and a whole lot of soul. I believe in writing love stories that feel like home but taste like trouble; stories where Black women get to be everything — brilliant, chaotic, sensual, and free.

This debut is deeply personal. It’s for my daughter, who made me brave enough to share it. It’s for my sister, who reminded me I had something to say. And it’s for every reader who wants to feel like they’re talking to their homegirl — getting the tea, the truth, and maybe a little temptation too.

When I’m not writing, you can usually find me in my cozy corner of the world — music on, candle burning, plotting new ways to ruin fictional lives in the name of love.
